Pundit verdict on Jurgen Klopp quitting Liverpool - ‘somebody told me’
Frank McAvennie has urged Jurgen Klopp to freshen up the Liverpool midfield as soon as possible.
But, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said somebody told him that Klopp is poised to quit the Anfield club.
As quoted by German journalist Florian Plettenberg (1 November), Klopp’s agent Marc Kosicke insisted the Reds’ boss has “no intention of resigning”.
Kosicke added that the manager is in regular contract with the people in charge and insisted he “loves the club, team and fans”.
Earlier this year the club confirmed (28 April) that the 55-year-old put pen to paper on a new contract at Anfield.
Klopp’s initial deal was set to expire in 2024 but has now signed on to stay in Merseyside until at least 2026.

McAvennie has urged the German to strengthen the club’s midfield.
“He has got to freshen up the midfield,” he told Football Insider.
“He just has to and he is not doing that. Somebody told me that he is leaving. Somebody told me his family has gone back to Germany.
“I would not want that to happen because he is a wonderful manager but he has got to get the midfield changed there is no two ways about it.“
The Reds are currently eighth in the Premier League after a 2-1 win over Tottenham on Sunday (6 November) with 19 points from 13 games.
They are 15 points of league leaders Arsenal and 13 points behind title holders Man City.
