Pundit verdict on Leeds potentially sacking Bielsa after confirmed news from rivals
Marcelo Bielsa’s job at Leeds United is safe as long as he keeps them in the Premier League, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Aston Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer delivered his verdict after Dean Smith and Daniel Farke were sacked last weekend, shortly after the dismissals of Steve Bruce and Nuno Espirito Santo.
Leeds are just one point and one place above Villa who are 16th on 10 points after 11 Premier League games.
The Midlands giants parted ways with Smith after he lost his fifth consecutive Premier League game after their 1-0 loss to Southampton on Friday night.
Leeds’ only Premier League wins this season have come against strugglers Norwich City and Watford.
They are only three points above third from bottom Burnley, who earned a valuable point with Chelsea at the weekend.

Asked whether Smith’s sacking will have Bielsa sweating over his job, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I think Bielsa will be fine because Leeds and their owners haven’t got aspirations like Aston Villa.
“The Aston Villa owners want to be in the top six. Leeds owners and the club are happy just to stay in the Premier League for the moment. In the future, they may want to get into the top six.
“At the moment, they have not got the squad of players and have not invested enough to be challenging in the top six yet. Bielsa has got time.”
Before Leeds’ 1-1 draw with Leicester City, Andrea Radrizzani insisted he fully backed his manager.
As quoted by the Athletic (November 2), the Whites owner claimed Bielsa had his “unconditional support”.
