Pundit verdict on Pep Guardiola quitting Man City after Sky reveal

Alan Hutton has insisted Pep Guardiola will remain at Man City at the moment.

But, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said that if Guardiola feels something is “not right” then he will walk away.

As quoted by Sky Sports (6 February), last May the City boss said that if the club ever lied to him he would leave.

Man City

The manager said he has put all his faith in the club and would always defend them.

The Premier League announced on Monday (5 February) that they have referred 115 charges against City surrounding financial conduct to an independent commission.

City’s formal response stated that there is “irrefutable evidence” in support of their position and are keen to put the matter to rest.

When asked if the Sky Blues boss could leave given the accusations, Hutton told Football Insider:Not at this moment in time.

Yes these allegations are there but it has to go through a lot of stages. I do not think he is going to walk away at this moment in time.

If things come to light and they have done wrong and sanctions were made, would he walk away? Possibly.

If he did not know anything about it then his hands are tied behind his back, there is not much he can then do moving forward.

He said that a year ago so I presume he would stand by what he said but I think there is a long way to go yet before we find out exactly what is going to happen.

Guardiola seems like someone who sticks up for his beliefs so if he thinks something was not right then I am sure he would walk away.
