When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of Lanzini’s goal, Phillips said: “Lanzini is technically a brilliant player.

“That goal was incredible.

“You have to give him a lot of credit for not sulking and throwing his toys out of the pram when he wasn’t playing. He was prepared to fight. He was won his position back in the team.

“When you get an opportunity, you have to take it. That is exactly what he’s done.

“To score the goal he did, wow. There is not many players in the Premier League who can do that. West Ham have a player who can produce something out of nothing in Lanzini.
