‘Rangers fans left raging by QPR dig in transfer announcement: ‘No ambition’
Rangers supporters have been left fuming with a dig aimed at the Ibrox club by QPR after the West London side signed Kwame Poku.
The Championship club officially announced the former Peterborough United man’s arrival on Saturday, 28 June, following rival interest in Poku from Rangers.
Russell Martin’s side are vying to recruit well this summer as they push to beat bitter rivals Celtic to the next Scottish Premiership title, and fans have been left disappointed that the Ibrox club have missed out on the talented winger.
Meanwhile, QPR will be pleased to have sealed a notable addition so early on in the Julian Stephan era at Loftus Road.
The R’s will look to significantly better the 15th place finish they managed in the Championship under former boss Marti Cifuentes.

Rangers supporters fume as QPR confirm Poku addition
Amid Martin’s efforts to set his agenda at Ibrox, Rangers have signed Max Aarons on loan from Bournemouth.
Aarons’ previous performances in the Premier League and the Championship for both Bournemouth and his former club Norwich show that he could be a solid signing for the Bears.
The right-back also made four appearances in the Spanish top flight for Valencia during a loan spell last summer.
Meanwhile, Poku could have provided the Scottish Premiership outfit with dangerous cutting edge in attacking areas.
He scored 12 goals and produced eight assists for Peterborough in League One last term, even though Posh finished just 18th in the third tier.
Poku also helped his side win the EFL Trophy by notching an assist in just two appearances in the competition.
However, the 23-year-old chose to stay in English football, moving to Queens Park Rangers, who announced the signing by aiming a dig at their Ibrox counterparts via X on Saturday, 28 June: “Kwame Poku signs for the Rangers.”
One member of the Ibrox faithful commented: “Shame he has no ambition, QPR are without a doubt the smallest club in Essex, while another Gers fan said: “He signed for the money, not for the glory. Small club.”
