Radrizzani reacts on Twitter to Leeds defeat at Huddersfield
By Alex Stevens
Andrea Radrizzani has taken to Twitter to reveal he is “disappointed” for the Leeds fans that the team lost the Yorkshire derby to Huddersfield on Sunday.
But the new Elland Road co-owner claimed he was impressed by the attitude of the players and is convinced they will continue to improve in the coming matches.
Italian businessman Radrizzani, who bought a 50 per cent stake in the club last month, has only previously taken to social media to deliver verdicts on the team in the wake of victories.
This was pointed out by a supporter on Twitter on Sunday afternoon following the 2-1 setback at Huddersfield, which prompted Radrizzani into action.
“I am disappointed as all of you for today,” said the sports media rights tycoon on his personal Twitter account. “We deserved more for the spirit and attitude of the boys. Leeds [are] confident we will continue to grow and react in the next games”.
Radrizzani made no comment about the ugly scenes that followed the dugout altercation between manager Garry Monk and his opposite number David Warner.
The defeat for Leeds at the John Smiths Stadium mean Huddersfield climb above them to take fourth position in the Championship table, although Monk’s side are still well placed for a promotion charge.
They are fifth in the division with a haul of 54 points and are eight points clear of Norwich in seventh position.
Leeds are next in action on Saturday of next week when they host Cardiff at Elland Road for an afternoon kick-off.
In other Leeds news, fans have reacted hilariously to Gaetano Berardi’s role in the late brawl against Huddersfield.
