Raheem Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk among ten senior Chelsea stars who could be sold by 30th June

Chelsea are on the fringes of breaching financial regulations and look set to offload multiple senior stars to avoid a potentially catastrophic punishment.

A points deduction could be on the cards for the struggling Blues after they announced a £90million loss in their recently released 2022-23 accounts following a £121million loss in their 2021-22 accounts.

They are under major pressure to balance their books before 30th June, especially considering their on-field challenges and likely failure this season to qualify for European competition.

Sources have also told Football Insider (6 March) that the Londoners are planning to sell up to four senior players before July to meet their Profit and Sustainability requirements.

In light of their financial woes, Football Insider has highlighted 10 of the stars who could be sold by the key 30th June cut-off.

Conor Gallagher

Despite captaining the side in Reece James’ absence this season, Chelsea seem open to selling Gallagher.

Sources told Football Insider (11 March) that the club could be forced to sell the Englishman, who is of significant interest to rivals Tottenham, despite Mauricio Pochettino being a huge fan of the midfielder.

The academy graduate would register as pure profit on Chelsea’s books and amid an impasse in contract talks, he could be one of their most lucrative outgoings.

Marc Cucurella

The former Brighton star has failed to meet expectations at Stamford Bridge since his reported £63million move in 2022.

He could be one of the multiple big-name stars to be sold, with Football Insider revealing (7 March) that Chelsea plan to put him up for sale in the summer.

Few Blues supporters would bemoan his departure, but it is unlikely that the club will recoup anywhere the huge fee they paid the Seagulls for his services.

Chelsea

Robert Sanchez

Another of Chelsea’s swoops from Brighton that has underwhelmed, Sanchez could be shipped out after just one season in London.

He started Chelsea’s first 16 games before picking up a knee injury but managed to keep just three clean sheets in that time.

With sources telling Football Insider (29 February) that the Blues could move for out-of-favour Arsenal shot-stopper Aaron Ramsdale and Dorde Petrovic retaining his spot since Sanchez’s return, the writing could be on the wall.

Malang Sarr

Sarr’s current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2025, meaning Chelsea could be keen to cash in as soon as possible.

He has failed to make a splash in West London since his free move from Nice in 2020 and has been sent out on loan spells to Porto and Monaco to little effect.

He has not made a single appearance for Chelsea this season and looks well set to be offloaded.

Noni Madueke

While Madueke has not set the world alight in London since his move from PSV in January 2023, his young age and high potential could allow Chelsea to secure a decent fee.

He has made just four starts in the Premier League this season but has bagged two goals across 343 minutes of action, meaning he could be a sellable asset to help balance the books.

Carney Chukwuemeka

Chukwuemeka has had a torrid time with injuries this season having missed 17 league games with a knee injury and a further three-game stretch with an ankle setback.

He was subbed on in Chelsea’s 3-2 win over Newcastle United on Monday (11 March), but the Blues have enough injury-prone stars and could look to sell if he can keep himself fit for the summer.

Raheem Sterling

The reported £47.5million signing of Sterling in the summer of 2022 has been far from Chelsea’s worst investment in recent seasons.

While his 17 goals and 13 assists in 73 games for the club are far from his great form during his spell at Man City, he notched some crucial goals in his first 18 months.

Chelsea

However, the 29-year-old may have one lucrative move left in his career and Chelsea may be tempted to cash in if they have the chance.

Don’t be surprised if they accept a bid around the £30m mark.

Kepa Arrizabalaga

Many fans were surprised to see Kepa move on loan to European giants Real Madrid last summer amid his erratic form for the Blues.

While no club in world football would pay anywhere near his record-breaking £71.6million fee, he seems like an ideal player to cash in on.

If Chelsea do manage to sign a new goalkeeper, like Ramsdale, then Kepa’s departure seems like a no-brainer if clubs register interest.

Trevoh Chalobah

The Blues were willing to offload the centre-back in January, with sources telling Football Insider (26 January) that they would allow him to leave on loan.

As another academy graduate, Chalobah would represent pure profit on the club’s books.

He has come back into the side for the last two league games after a major injury setback kept him out of action for the first six months of the season, but the Blues could be hopeful that he can grow his stock before sanctioning a move.

Mykhailo Mudryk

Mudryk is yet to convince Pochettino at Stamford Bridge, with Football Insider revealing (21 February) that his future is up in the air heading into the summer transfer window.

Chelsea

He bagged a well-taken winning goal against Newcastle to bring his total tally up to six in all competitions this season which may give fans some hope of a revival in form.

However, he could have suitors in the summer following reported January interest from Bayern Munich, which could tempt the Blues into a sale.
