Raheem Sterling transfer plan revealed amid Chelsea star’s shock QPR link
Journalist Phil McNulty has made a strong remark regarding Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling and his transfer prospects this summer.
Sterling joined Arsenal on loan last summer, but contributed just one goal and five assists during his time in North London and the Gunners have no interest in making the deal permanent.
The 30-year-old is not seen in Enzo Maresca’s future plans at Stamford Bridge and the Italian has already moved in this window to sign Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and winger Jamie Gittens.
The former Manchester City star has two years left on his current deal with Chelsea, but the Blues could pay Sterling out of his contract to ensure he leaves the club this summer.

Sterling ‘in limbo’ as winger weighs up future
BBC Sport’s McNulty has suggested that Sterling will need to take a risk if he’s to resurrect his career this summer.
McNulty was responding to a reader’s question about whether Sterling would be open to joining Championship club QPR, where he came through the youth ranks before joining Liverpool.
Responding to the QPR link, McNulty said: “Nice sentimental thought and Sterling will need to do something. Made no impact at Arsenal and clearly unwanted by Enzo Maresca at Chelsea.
“It’s a real head-scratcher as to who might want him, which seems barely believable given his status only a couple of years ago.
“If he has not been snapped up near the deadline, I can see a Premier League club making a move, but at the moment he is in limbo.”
Sterling joined Chelsea under current England boss Thomas Tuchel for £50m back in 2022 and has also played under Graham Potter and Mauricio Pochettino at the club before Maresca’s arrival.

Premier Leaguge club should take chance on Sterling
Football Insider Verdict
A move back to QPR would be a massive coup for the Championship side, but with Sterling’s undeniable quality a Premier League club would be silly not to give the winger another chance.
Only two seasons ago, Sterling was contributing double figures for goals and assists at Chelsea.
He was trusted by Pep Guardiola at Man City and can play on the wing or through the centre as a false number nine and registered 29 goals and assists during the 2017/18 season.
Appearances | 599 |
Goals | 182 |
Assists | 133 |
Competition at Arsenal was tough for Sterling last season and he was always going to be second choice behind Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.
However, when the Gunners were at breaking point with injuries, opportunities were still sparse for the England international.
Midfielder Mikel Merino was trusted more than Sterling to perform as the club’s makeshift centre forward.
With a regular run of minutes, Sterling may be able to showcase his quality, but the top Premier League club’s are unlikely to be making an approach.
