Kieran Maguire: £13m Rangers deal in danger amid dramatic Ibrox boardroom news
The £13million share transfer agreement between Club 1872 and Dave King could be under threat amid dramatic developments at Rangers.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about King’s bid to rejoin the Ibrox board.
King, who joined the board in 2000 and steered Rangers through financial armageddon in the 2010s, quit his post as chairman in March last year.

But the 66-year-old supremo told the Daily Mail on Monday (13 December) that he is seeking to re-join the club in an executive role.
King agreed a deal in December 2020 to sell all of his equity in the club to supporters’ group Club 1872 for around £13m.
The South Africa-based entrepreneur remains the largest single stakeholder in the Scottish champions with 15.45 per cent.
Maguire suggests that his U-turn could have seismic ramifications for his deal with Club 1872.
“The ambition of Club 1872 to acquire all of Dave King’s shares was always going to be challenging,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“It could be that negotiations have reached a stage where Club 1872 feel they have gone as far as they can it’s not going to be enough.
“He could bequeath those shares to Club 1872 or he might decide to take the cash. Ultimately, that is his decision to make.”

King has been publicly critical of the current Rangers regime since his departure.
He has already transferred several million shares to Club 1872, who now own almost five per cent of the club.
