Midfield enforcer undergoing medical ahead of Rangers transfer - report
By Harvey Byrne
Rangers midfield enforcer Matt Crooks is poised to leave the club and join Scunthorpe on loan, according to a report.
HITC Sport has claimed that Mark Warburton is happy to send the 22-year-old out on loan as he currently down the pecking order at Ibrox.
It is stated that a number of Championship and League One sides have expressed their interest in taking Crooks.
However, Graham Alexander’s side are believed to have secured his signature and it is reported that the player is currently undergoing a medical at the north Lincolnshire-based team.

Crooks made the switch to Rangers alongside Josh Windass from Accrington in the summer after agreeing a pre-contract last January.
However, he has not enjoyed the same success as Windass and has played just three times in all competitions this campaign.
The additions will have left him further down the club’s midfield pecking order and he will now be keen to impress at Scunthorpe, who are currently second in League One.
Football Insider verdict:
It was always assumed that Crooks was added to the squad to help Windass settle in at Rangers and the former’s lack of appearances for the club have only confirmed the assumption. The Scottish giants have struggled in the centre of the park this season with injuries to Niko Kranjcar and Jordan Rossiter, while Joey Barton has left the club. The fact that Crooks has still be unable to get into the squad has only told supporters that he is not in Warburton’s plans. A loan move to England will be beneficial for his career and it will help him establish himself once again in the lower reaches of the English football pyramid.
