Rangers 6-figure spend revealed as Ibrox overhaul takes shape – Sources
The new Rangers era ushered in by the Castore kit deal will began with a six-figure refurbishment of the Ibrox megastore.
The Glasgow giants announced yesterday they had agreed a deal with the sportswear brand to take over as their kit and retail partner, a day after Football Insider revealed the agreement had been finalised and was set to be announced.
Rangers did not divulge the length of the new agreement, although it is believed to run over five years and to be worth in excess of £20million.
Castore have been working extensively on the new kit designs in preparation for its launch ahead of next season.
The new suppliers will also oversee the much-needed overhaul of the somewhat faded Ibrox megastore.
Castore are committed to spending £250,000 on refurbishing the store selling Rangers merchandise and replica kit after the club finally broke free of the Mike Ashley shackles.
That overhaul is set to be completed later this summer as Rangers look to narrow the commercial gap on Celtic.
The new kit and retail agreement will replace the current Hummel and Elite deal, after Rangers opted not to trigger the option to take it into a third season.
The 54-times league champions have been freed up to earn more cash and benefit from their status across Europe following their run to this season’s last-16 of the Europa League.
In other Rangers news, it can be REVEALED there has been a major twist as Celtic title plans have been foiled.
