Rangers agree Dujon Sterling deal after Chelsea and Stoke City offers rejected – sources
Rangers have finalised the signing of defender Dujon Sterling after he rejected offers from Chelsea and Stoke City, sources have told Football Insider.
The 23-year-old snubbed both proposals and has agreed to sign a four-year deal with the Glasgow giants.
The Scottish club has scheduled a medical for the player and the transfer paperwork is set to be completed soon with an announcement of his signing imminent.
Sterling has already had a tour of Ibrox and the club’s Auchenhowie training headquarters.
It is understood that Sterling had an offer from Chelsea to extend his deal, while Championship side Stoke also offered him a contract after his impressive loan spell at the club.
Sterling made 28 appearances across all competitions for the Potters and showed his versatility by playing at left-back, right-back and occasionally centre-back for the club.
But Sterling has rejected the chance to return to Stoke, paving the way for him to make a landmark Ibrox move to join Michael Beale’s project.
The Rangers manager has moved quickly to add to his squad this summer, with Sterling set to join Kieron Dowell as early-window arrivals after the Norwich City star completed his medical.

Football Insider sources revealed on Monday (8 May) that Dowell has a verbal agreement in place to join Rangers.
Beale is expected to continue his overhaul of the squad throughout the summer, with this site’s sources revealing that Gers are set to make 10 new signings ahead of the 2023/24 season.
