‘Rangers and Celtic set for massive shock next season’ as data king turns the screw
Rangers and Celtic could be set for a big shock next season as the Scottish Premiership becomes more competitive.
The Glasgow pair have dominated the domestic league for decades, winning every single title since Aberdeen lifted the trophy under Sir Alex Ferguson back in 1985.
However, Brighton owner Tony Bloom recently completed £9.86million deal to buy a 29 per cent stake in Hearts.
Bloom said he wants to “disrupt the pattern of domination which has been in place for far too long” within Scottish football.
Aberdeen’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Pittodrie between 2000 and 2004, had lengthy spells as the chief of Everton and Aston Villa and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that the move is very positive for the league.

Rangers and Celtic to suffer in more competitive SPL
Last season, Celtic were crowned Scottish Premiership champions for the fourth year in a row after finishing 17 points above their Old Firm rivals.
However, speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness claimed that there will be a number of “shock” results in the upcoming campaign, which could see some of the smaller clubs challenging the two Glasgow sides.
Wyness added that it will make the Scottish national team stronger if they have a competitive domestic league.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “It’s a very positive sign, and I think we’re going to see some talent coming in. I’ve been advocating for years that Scotland should be seen as a laboratory of young talent from around the world.
“You could even make it an Under-25s league in my opinion and make it a superb showcase for young talent.
“I think Tony Bloom will be using all his algorithms and all his skills to try and put young talent up there, and I do expect Rangers and Celtic to be challenged if the manager can put them together into a decent squad.
“I expect to see some shock results coming up next season. I expect to see a more competitive Saturday in the SPL, and I’d be pleased for it because I want to see the Scottish domestic league stronger. I want to see the Scottish national team stronger.
“I’ve always said a very hard season for Rangers and Celtic, with true challengers, would be better for Scottish football, and for them as well. That was what I’d always preached when I was at Aberdeen.
“Aberdeen managed to nick the Cup last year, which was great for the game. I want to see Hibs and Hearts challenging again. I want to see Dundee United back up there, even Dundee.
“There are a lot of clubs that can make it. It’s a very positive move and I’m all for it. I’m a big fan of Scottish football.”

‘Hamza Igamane to complete Rangers transfer‘
Meanwhile, Rangers striker Hamza Igamane is reportedly closing in on an agreement to join Ligue 1 outfit Lille despite interest from West Ham and Everton.
That is according to former Man United and West Ham scout Mick Brown, who claims that Lille have made the strongest move for the 22-year-old.
Football Insider revealed in April that Rangers would considering “huge” offers for Igamane in an attempt to raise funds and reinvest in their squad.
