Sources: Rangers stance revealed on accepting Aribo offer in January amid £11m claim

Rangers will demand a £10million-plus transfer fee for Joe Aribo in the January window, Football Insider understands.

The versatile midfielder, 25, is on the radar of clubs south of the border going into next year and amid growing doubts over his long-term Ibrox future.

A Rangers source has told Football Insider that the club have no intention of letting Aribo go easily and it would take an eight-figure fee to get a deal done.

This site revealed earlier this month that Premier League outfit Crystal Palace are among the clubs keeping tabs on the Nigeria international.

Aribo, who is out of contract in the summer of 2023, was lured to Ibrox from Charlton Athletic on a free transfer in 2019.

He has developed into one of the key players at Rangers, who have had a mixed start to the season but are still strong favourites to secure a second consecutive league title.

Dave King revealed at the club’s AGM nearly two years that Ross Wilson had valued the squad at £55m and projected that it could eventually be worth £103million.

That figure was updated a year ago by industry experts 21st Club to the £170m mark.

Of the six players they valued the highest, among them was Aribo, said at the time to be worth £11m.

That figure is similar to the internal one at Ibrox, where there is conviction the player’s value has not diminished even though he will enter the final 18 months of his contract in the new year.
