Rangers backed to complete Alfredo Morelos deal amid ‘big’ claim – pundit
Rangers may be prepared to sell Alfredo Morelos before the end of the transfer window because he’s a “bad egg” and “overweight”.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Rangers are not as reliant on Morelos as they were in the past.
The 26-year-old has not featured for the Gers since being sent off in the 2-2 draw with Hibs earlier this month (20 August).

As quoted by the Scottish Sun on Saturday (27 August), Giovanni van Bronckhorst revealed he would hold crunch talks with the striker on Monday (29 August).
After previously lambasting his attitude, Van Bronckhorst admitted he had seen a reaction in training.
“Morelos has been so influential over the last few years since he’s been at Rangers, he’s probably got a bit big for himself and thought he was one of the big players at the club,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“You’ve got to rate what Van Bronckhorst has done. He’s basically said ‘Mate, you are a good player but you are not bigger than Rangers, I will clear you out’.
“Maybe before, under Gerrard, he was more needed because there weren’t other options.
“When you’ve got other options in the squad, Rangers don’t need Morelos. He gets sent off a lot, there’s talk of him being overweight and I think that’s always been a problem with him.
“Van Bronckhorst probably thinks ‘You know what, I’d rather just get some money in for him and get him out’.

“When somebody is a bad egg at a football club, you don’t need them. He’s a good player but he’s not world-class and Rangers have qualified for the Champions League without him, basically.
“I’m sure people at the club will think ‘You know what, just get rid of him’.”
In other news, Rangers have been tipped to agree a “big” Ryan Kent deal after a £25million development.
