Rangers backed to seal ‘excellent’ Lennon Miller signing – expert
Rangers have been backed to sign Motherwell midfielder Lennon Miller this summer.
That is the opinion of former Gers defender Alan Hutton, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about the 17-year-old.
The teenager is under contract at Motherwell until 2026, but Rangers have reportedly been scouting him.
Philippe Clement is aiming to bolster his squad this summer in a bid to provide even more competition to Celtic next season.
Miller impressed last season in the Scottish Premiership by becoming a regular feature in the Motherwell side.
He made 32 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring once while providing three assists.
Rangers would gain a talent to mould in Lennon Miller
Considering Miller is only a teenager, the central midfielder has plenty of potential to make improvements moving forward.
But with Rangers having to sell players to buy this summer due to their financial issues, there could be a stumbling block over any potential transfer.
“He’s a young player there’s loads of potential there,” Hutton told Football Insider.
“He was excellent last season, his all-round play, a real good head on his shoulders as well beyond his years.
“You bring somebody in like that, at that age who knows the league who knows what it’s all about, [he] could hit the ground running.
“There’s room to improve there, the manager will want to mould him how he wants to play within that team and he can make him a better player.
“When we talk about fees it’s very difficult because, yes, he’s got all the potential; he was outstanding last season.

“Motherwell will want the most for him that they can get, but whether Rangers can afford to do that, are we talking £2,3,4-5million, I’m not sure.
“The potential is there for him to go even further What a signing he would be, and I can see it happening.”
