23-year-old axed in three changes: Rangers best possible XI v St Johnstone
COMMENT By James Black
Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha must make three changes to his side when they travel to face St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park on Friday night.
Ryan Jack’s suspension means the midfielder will definitely miss the Premiership clash this week and must be replaced by fringe player Jason Holt in the side.
Bruno Alves is also likely to return to the starting XI – at the expense of Ross McCrorie – after missing the Light Blue’s last three games with a calf injury picked up against Partick Thistle
Josh Windass’ poor form should see him axed by Caixinha, with Niko Kranjcar taking his place on the left wing as he also comes back from injury.
The Gers are neck-and-neck with St. Johnstone in third place in the Premiership and will no doubt be looking to secure all three points to maintain their title challenge.

Wes Foderingham must start between the sticks in Rangers side behind James Tavernier, Fabio Cardoso, Declan John and the fit-again Bruno Alves.
Jack’s suspension should see Holt return to the starting XI for only the second time this season after impressing as a substitute in recent appearances.
Holt should partner Graham Dorrans in the middle of the park with Daniel Candeias and Niko Kranjcar on the flanks with 23-year-old Windass missing out.
Mexican midfielder Carlos Pena has to get more of a run as the Gers’ number 10 playing behind prolific striker Alfredo Morelos as the link between the midfield and striker.
Kenny Miller should not be returning to the side yet after his reported fall out with Caixinha, but could appear on the bench for the trip to St Johnstone.
In other Rangers news, Caixinha was blown away by four Rangers youngsters in the closed-doors friendly with Morton.
