Rangers are preparing a third bid for Norwich midfielder Graham Dorrans after seeing their two previous efforts fail, according to a report.
The Scottish Sun claim that Championship side Norwich have turned down a second offer for their 30-year-old believed to be just under £1million, with the initial bid of £700,000 rejected last week too.
It is understood that Gets manager Pedro Caixinha has not been put off by the rejections and is keen to land the central midfielder.
The report details that the Scottish giants are preparing a third bid which could be table on Wednesday and that Norwich won’t accept less than £1million.
Rangers seem intent on getting their man in the summer window and making him the latest addition to new players at Ibrox.
They have already added five players to their ranks in the form of Bruno Alves, Ryan Jack, Fabio Cadroso, Dalcio and Daniel Candeias.
Dorrans has been prioritised as a must have signing and the midfielder has carved out a strong career in English football so far.
He is an experienced player that has impressed during his time with Norwich and West Brom in the past.
The Scotsman managed six goals in just 24 appearances last season in the Championship and also has played 142 times in the Premier League.
Football Insider verdict:
Caixinha is assembling a strong squad at Ibrox as they aim to vastly improve on their third-placed league finish from last year. The addition of defender Alves could prove to be a decisive one and Dorrans could be another crucial player if they can wrap up a deal for him. The midfielder has an eye for goal and with give the Gers an extra bit of quality in the centre. He is composed in possession, puts himself about, and should standout as a quality player in the Scottish top flight. The 30-year-old still has lots to offer and his experience should also help the younger players in the dressing room. Rangers lacked a real leader in the midfield last season and the club must push the Dorrans deal over the line to help them significantly.
In other Rangers transfer news, an English side are plotting a six-figure bid for the club’s 23-year-old.
