Rangers board don't seem to have much idea of what to do over huge decision

COMMENT

Rangers chairman Dave King faces his biggest decision since taking control at Ibrox when it comes to appointing the next Gers manager – but it appears that the board are waiting for a solution to land in their lap.

When Pedro Caixinha was sacked in October and the Gers moved Graeme Murty up from the Under-20s to the senior side, it seemed there was at least something of a plan but after Derek McInnes decided against taking the job at Ibrox the whole thing seems rudderless.

Murty was given the job until the end of the season and the board sat back and waited, hoping they would get lucky and Murty would do what Caixinha and Mark Warburton failed to by challenging Celtic.

Several months on and it looks as though Murty isn’t going to be the pick the board hoped and the Gers are no further forward in challenging Celtic than they were when they won promotion from the Championship in 2015.

Some of the names mentioned by fans vary from intriguing to idiotic however there’s a distinct impression that the board have as much idea as fans who is going to be the next manager of the Ibrox giants
