Rangers close in on Yusuf Kabadayi deal after green light – sources

Rangers are closing in on the £1million signing of Bayern Munich winger Yusuf Kabadayi in their fourth summer deal.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Bayern are willing to let the 20-year-old leave, despite a successful loan spell at FC Schalke.

The winger is now entering the final year of his contract at the Allianz Arena, with a £1million transfer fee said to be enough to prise him away.

Talks are advancing over a deal following further discussions in the last hours.

Rangers, meanwhile, are looking to add strength in depth to their squad as Philippe Clement looks to mould the team to his style of play.

Rangers set to sign Yusuf Kabadayi from Bayern Munich

Kabadayi came through the academy at Bayern Munich and signed his first professional contract in 2023, but is yet to make a senior appearance for the club.

Upon signing the two-year deal, he was immediately loaned out to Schalke, where he made 24 senior appearances last season and scored four goals.

Sources say the winger no longer has a future at Bayern, and the club are now set to cash in before his contract expires in 2025.

Rangers, meanwhile, are looking to improve their squad after a disappointing end to the season under Clement, with director of football Nils Koppen targeting younger options.

The confirmed signings of Jefte and Clinton Nsiala, as well as the deal to extend Oscar Cortes’ loan, have kicked off a fast start to the summer window at Ibrox.

In other news, Connor Goldson could seal an £8million exit from Ibrox.
