Sources: Antonio Colak signs for Rangers and heads for Portugal

Rangers have finalised the signing of Croatian striker Antonio Colak, sources have told Football Insider.

The 28-year-old put pen to paper on a contract with the Glasgow giants shortly around 3pm on Thursday after agreeing personal terms.

Colak has completed a Rangers medical and the paperwork is in place for him to be confirmed as a Rangers player.

The announcement is expected in the next 24 hours.

Colak’s club PAOK granted the player permission to leave their training camp in Holland on Wednesday after they accepted a fresh offer from Rangers.

The Greek outfit ended extended negotiations after securing a replacement for their goalscorer.

Colak will now be able to jet out to join his new team-mates in Portugal as they prepare for the new season.

Rangers have made the capture of the striker a top priority as they look to strengthen their attacking options for the 2022-23 campaign.

Colak will compete with Alfredo Morelos and Kemar Roofe for game time at Ibrox in the short term, although the future of the Colombian is shrouded in uncertainty, just as it is most summer transfer windows.

Colak, who has been capped three times for Croatia, has appeared in two friendly matches during pre-season.

He has an impressive pedigree that includes 90 goals and 33 assists from 221 club matches in all competitions.

Colak will follow in the footsteps of Nikica Jelavic and Dado Prso when he wears the Light Blues jersey.
