Confirmed Rangers line-up v Partick Thistle: Defender axed in two changes

By Russell Edge

Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha has named two changes to the starting XI for his side’s visit to Firhill to take on Partick Thistle.

In come David Bates and Joe Garner replacing Clint Hill and Emerson Hyndman.

The Gers come into the match off the back of a humiliating derby day defeat to rivals Celtic.

Caixinha saw his side swept aside in the 5-1 defeat at Celtic Park and will be hoping that his players can bounce back in style as they on the road again, this time at sixth-placed Thistle.

Rangers have faced Alan Archibald’s side three times this season and are yet to taste defeat, having scored at least twice in each of their matches.

Rangers announced their starting XI for the 12:15 KO on the club’s official Twitter:

Midfielder Hyndman is missing after a sustaining a foot injury that could keep him out of the rest of the season, so in comes Garner.

Striker Kenny Miller will be hoping to add to his goal tally of 10 this season, after scoring a consolation goal in the 5-1 drubbing to their Old Firm rivals.

A win for the Gers could put them within six points of second placed Aberdeen, depending on the result in their clash with Heart of Midlothian.
