Rangers could be about to sign two amazing players – Hutton
Rangers have been applauded for identifying two promising young talents who can grow into key members of the squad.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Gers defender Alan Hutton discussed the two potential new signings of Bayern Munich prospect Yusuf Kabadayi and Morocco youth international Hamza Igamane.
Football Insider revealed [14 June] that 20-year-old winger Kabadayi is the subject of work behind-the-scenes by Rangers to bring in a new, young recruit with excellent pedigree from Bayern, a £1m deal being thrashed out.
Kabadayi spent last season on loan in the German second tier with Schalke, scoring four times in 23 appearances.
Igamane, 21, has so far spent his entire fledgling career with AS FAR in his homeland of Morocco, also representing his nation’s Under-23 side.
The deal for the Moroccan forward is as good as complete, with supporters just waiting on an official announcement.
Rangers may have unearthed gems in Kabadayi and Igamane
Hutton says the recruitment staff at Rangers will have left no stone unturned in their data research on the young duo and trusts they have got it right with their arrivals, as Philippe Clement looks to reap the benefits of a summer squad rebuild at Ibrox.
“The two of them, of course, they’re a bit unknown,” he admitted.
“But, like everyone else, I’ve looked up what they’re all about and what they can bring to the team.
“They’re young, and I’m sure the backroom staff have done their due diligence on them and they think they can improve the squad.
“Look, there are still going to be question marks, we don’t know if they can play at this level in front of 50-60,000 people every other week, or in the Champions League if they get there.
“But it’s up to them to prove they can handle it. If so, they could be amazing signings.”
