Rangers could sell Ben Davies this summer - 'I've got a feeling,' says expert
Rangers should only sell Ben Davies if they are signing another centre-back.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Gers defender Alan Hutton said the only way the club would let go of Davies so soon after his arrival is if Michael Beale is planning on signing a new centre-back.
The 27-year-old joined the Light Blues in July 2022 and put pen to paper on a four-year contract with the Glasgow club.
According to footballscotland (2 June), Stoke City are keeping an eye on Davies’ progress with other club also believed to be monitoring his situation.
The centre-back made 38 appearances for the Gers across all competitions this season and has been an important member of Beale’s back line despite initially struggling with injury when he first arrived at the club.
When asked if the Gers would be willing to move on Davies so soon after his arrival, Hutton told Football Insider: “I would hope not.

“He struggled when he first arrived with injury, he was signed for decent money and then the injury really hampered his start at Ibrox.
“It was a real shame but I thought he started coming on to a game in the second half of the season.
“I have got a feeling that with the players Michael Beale is bringing in and who he has got there he could possibly play three at the back.
“Unless he is planning on bringing somebody in I do not see why they would want to let him go so early.“
