Rangers ex-coach in contention to land Barrow and Swindon Town jobs – sources
Former Rangers coach Harry Watling is in contention for the vacant manager’s jobs at Barrow and Swindon Town, sources have told Football Insider.
The 34-year-old worked under Michael Beale on his coaching staff at Rangers, having previously worked together at QPR.
Watling is highly regarded in coaching circles having also worked in the Chelsea and West Ham academy.
He has been out of work since parting ways with Rangers but is now on track to land a managerial role for the first time in his career.
Barrow announced on Friday (24 May) that they have parted ways with manager Pete Wild following a “post-season review”.
Rangers coach who worked under Beale in running for two jobs
The League Two side narrowly missed out on the play-offs and finished their 2023-24 campaign in eighth place with no wins in their final five league games.
As for Swindon, they are yet to permanently replace Michael Flynn after he left the club in January following a poor start to his managerial stint.

They finished 19th in League Two in what was a very underwhelming season for the Robins.
It is understood that Watling is in contention for both jobs as they look to kick-start their preparations for the 2024-25 season.
