Rangers caretaker manager Jimmy Nicholl is expected to make one change to the Light Blues starting XI when they face Kilmarnock on Saturday – with 24-year-old Josh Windass axed to make way for Alfredo Morelos in attack.

The Gers welcome Steve Clarke’s side to Ibrox in their final home game of the season, 24 hours after confirming the appointment of Steven Gerrard as the club’s new manager, and Nicholl will be hoping for a reaction following last weekend’s 5-0 Old Firm thrashing.

Jak Alnwick is expected to keep his place in goal with Wes Foderingham still ruled out through injury.

Ahead of Alnwick, Nicholl is likely to name an unchanged back four as injuries limit his option. James Tavernier, Ross McCrorie, Russell Martin and Andy Halliday are all expected to get the nod despite Bruno Alves and David Bates getting close to a return.

Jamie Murphy and Daniel Candeias should continue on the flanks with Jason Holt and Graham Dorrans again paired in central midfield as the Light Blues look to dictate the tempo.

After missing out on a starting place against Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic last weekend, Morelos is expected to come back into the starting XI and partner Jason Cummings in attack as the Light Blues look to try to make up ground on Aberdeen in the race for second in the Scottish Premiership.

In other Rangers news, this centre-back wanted by the Gers and rivals Celtic is due to head to Glasgow with his deal expiring soon.
