Striker axed, 20-year-old returns: Rangers expected XI v Aberdeen
Rangers caretaker Jimmy Nicholl is expected to make one change to the side which beat Kilmarnock on Saturday when he takes the Gers to Pittodrie on Tuesday night to take on Aberdeen.
Striker Jason Cummings is expected to be axed from the side with 20-year-old Ross McCrorie returning to his place in the starting XI for the must win clash with Derek McInnes’ side.
Goalkeeper Jak Alwick is expected to keep his place in goal as Wes Foderingham continues to recover from a shoulder injury while James Tavernier, David Bates, Russell Martin and Andy Halliday make up the Light Blues defence.
McCrorie will likely start as the holding midfielder with Graham Dorrans and Jason Holt ahead of him given more freedom to join the Light Blues attack and cause problems for the Dons defence.
Wingers Jamie Murphy and Daniel Candeias should take their usual berths on either flank as they look to create chances for Alfredo Morelos to add to his 18 goals for the season before the season ends.
With only a single point separating the two sides in the race for second in the Scottish Premiership, Nicholl’s side can’t afford to drop any points against the Reds.

If the Gers can pick up a win at Pittodrie that would mean a draw at Easter Road next weekend would be enough to secure second.
