Rangers caretaker manager Jimmy Nicholl is expected to make three changes to his side when they travel to Edinburgh to face Hibs in the final round of Scottish Premiership fixtures – as the Gers deal with losing a number of senior stars to injury and suspension.

Sean Goss, Greg Docherty and Jason Cummings are all expected to return to the starting XI to face Neil Lennon’s side with Ross McCrorie, Graham Dorrans and Alfredo Morelos making way.

Jak Alnwick is expected to start between the sticks with James Tavernier, David Bates, Russell Martin and Andy Halliday lining up ahead of him.

Wingers Jamie Murphy and Daniel Candeias are expected to keep their places on the flanks with Goss, Docherty and Jason Holt central, with the 22-year-old QPR loanee yet to start a game under Jimmy Nicholl during his reign as caretaker boss.

All three are likely to switch roles during the game in support of lone striker Jason Cummings as the Light Blues looks to secure second place in the Scottish Premiership on the final day of the season.

The Ibrox giants need to better Aberdeen’s result at Celtic Park to overtake Derek McInnes’ side and finish best of the rest in their second season back in the top flight.

With Steven Gerrard taking the reins on June 1st, this will be the final chance for the Gers players to impress before the new manager arrives and likely starts a massive overhaul of the playing squad.

In other Rangers news, the club are working on a stunning deal to sign an English powerhouse centre-back from seventh-placed club after Gerrard gives the green light.
