Rangers expert: Alfredo Morelos could be forced to sign for Watford

Former Rangers star Alfredo Morelos could be forced to join Watford due to a lack of other options.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, ex-Gers defender Alan Hutton said the offers Morelos has on the table may not be the ones he was hoping for.

The 27-year-old departed Ibrox this summer following the expiration of his contract but has been unable to find a new club, despite being available for free.

According to The Scotsman (31 July), English Championship side Watford are weighing up a move for the Colombia international who is also attracting interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia as well as La Liga side Granada.

Hutton suggested the striker may be forced to join the Hornets if his other options are limited.

It is one of those situations where the grass is not always greener on the other side,” he told Football Insider.

He was playing at a fantastic football club and his head just did not seem to be there for the last season or so.

Sometimes as a player you make the decision to run your contract down and then nothing comes. That is the situation he is in.

He might have one or two options but possibly not the one that he was looking at.

Are Watford a decent team? Of course but you always have a fear about the turnover of manager.

But if that is the only deal he has got on the table what else can you do.
