Rangers expert delighted by ‘incredible’ Fashion Sakala as footage emerges

Alan Hutton has been delighted by Fashion Sakala’s “incredible” turnaround at Rangers.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers right-back said Michael Beale’s change in formation has massively benefitted Sakala, who had been linked with a move away from Ibrox in the summer.

As shown on Sky Sports (8 January), the 25-year-old put the Lights Blues in front against Dundee United with an impressive strike.

The Zambia international was in the starting lineup for the fifth time since Beale took charge of the Ibrox club.

He has scored three goals and provided two assists in those outings.

Back in August Sakala was linked with a £3million move to Burnley but ultimately stayed in Glasgow and has been thriving since Beale’s appointment.

The striker’s current deal runs until 2025 and it doesn’t look like the Glasgow club will be looking to get rid of him any time soon.

Hutton is delighted by what he’s seen from the forward.

His future definitely was uncertain before Michael Beale came in,” he told Football Insider.

I think the change of formation has helped him. Ryan Kent playing that number ten and he is more up front. He seems to be flourishing.

He is using his pace, getting in behind defences and he is working out well now. His goal was quite incredible, his touch and finish was superb.

I think he is starting to bring a little bit of calmness to his game. Before he was just slashing at everything but he seems to be more focussed when he gets into those areas.

He has carried on from his good form against Celtic and hopefully it can continue.
