Rangers expert has inside track on Ibrox stars after multi-million pound twist
Alan Hutton has claimed off the pitch issues won’t be affecting Rangers players.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender said that these issues come up “every year” and it never bothered him when he was a player.
As reported by the Rangers Review (29 November), the Light Blues are countersuing the organisers of the Sydney Super Cup.
The event organisers in Australia claim that the friendly matches against Celtic and Western Sydney Wanderers were terminated wrongfully by the Ibrox club and are seeking £1.6million in compensation.
The Gers are now raising a legal counterclaim for breaches of contract on the part of the organisers.
The Bears pulled out of the tournament less than a month after the announcement that they would face Celtic in a friendly tournament down under.
The club claimed that issues with the organisers of the event were the reason for their withdrawal.
Hutton insisted the players won’t be bothered by the outside noise.
“I can only talk from my experience and this comes up every year,” he told Football Insider.

“It did not affect me so I can’t imagine it really affects the players at this moment in time.
“Obviously they are back in training, they have a game at the weekend, a new manager so they will solely be focused on that and let the off-field be dealt with. From my experiences it did not affect me.“
