Rangers expert on Glen Kamara exit after source’s reveal
Alan Hutton has backed Glen Kamara to stay at Rangers next season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender said that although it depends on the offers, Kamara is an important part of Michael Beale’s project.
On 14 February, sources told this site that the 27-year-old could leave Ibrox in the summer.
The Light Blues signed Belgian midfielder Nicolas Raskin last month and Beale admitted he will be in direct competition with Kamara for first team action.
There are now “question marks” around Kamara’s long-term future in Glasgow and a consensus that he could quit in the summer.
The midfielder’s current deal runs until 2025 after signing from Dundee for £50,000 in 2019.
When asked if Kamara will leave in the summer, Hutton told Football Insider: “Before Michael Beale came in I would have said yes.
“I think at this moment in time I am swaying that he could stay. Obviously it depends on the offers.
“To bring a player like that in for £50,000, we were talking not that long about about selling him for millions. It is a great profit in that sense and that is what Rangers do at this moment in time.

“But I think under Beale he will be given a fair opportunity to go and show his stuff. He likes him and that is the main thing.
“He wants to build a team around these young, hungry players and I think he suits that profile at this moment as well.“
In other news, according to sources, Rangers star Allan McGregor almost certain to leave as replacement lined up.
