Rangers expert slams Fashion Sakala as latest footage re-analysed
Alan Hutton has been “frustrated” by Fashion Sakala for Rangers this season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender couldn’t believe the chance Sakala missed in the Scottish Cup semi-final on Sunday (30 April).
As shown on Viaplay Sports (30 April), James Tavernier’s shot struck the post before Sakala fired the rebound wide, despite being stood right in front of an open goal.
Celtic went on to win the game 1-0 and progress to the final of the cup competition.
Hutton said he is worried about the Gers’ lack of a goalscoring threat.
“It is very frustrating,” he told Football Insider.
“When Morelos is not coming up with the goods and you are looking around and saying who else?
“Sakala for everything that he gives you, his pace, he is a pest, his work rate, it is the simple things. When he gets in front of goal I am never really overly confident that he is going to finish it off.
“It could go high and wide, it could blast by the post, but as well it could go in the goal. It is that uncertainty, you are not sure.
“He has to score, it is a simple as that. When you are playing against your biggest rival in a semi-final. He just has to roll it in, the goal is open and he hits the side netting.
“It often comes down to fine margins with Rangers and Celtic and you have to be able to take your chances.“
