
Rangers fans all say same thing about John Souttar after his Scotland display
Rangers fans have named John Souttar the “best centre-back in Scotland” after his performance against Portugal on Tuesday (15 October) night.
Scotland held Roberto Martinez’s team to a goalless draw in the Nations League, with Souttar and his fellow defenders playing a key role in that.
The 28-year-old centre-back partnered Grant Hanley at the back as Steve Clarke’s side frustrated Portugal, despite the fact they had 14 shots throughout the game.
The Rangers defender picked up the Player of the Match award for his impressive individual performance, which saw him receive plenty of plaudits from fans.
The central defender has been a consistent figure in the Light Blues team this season, having featured played every minute of the Scottish Premiership campaign so far.
His performances for Rangers also pushed him into Clarke’s starting lineup for the past two Scotland games after being an unused substitute for both fixtures during the previous international break.

The Gers fans were quick to praise Souttar’s individual efforts against Portugal, with supporters claiming he was “exceptional” and that he should receive an “OBE for his performance.”
