Rangers fans are raging at latest Danny Rohl transfer news: ‘Shambolic’, ‘Not fit for Ibrox’
Rangers fans are not at all happy with new reports claiming that they want to re-sign Josh Windass in the January window after Danny Rohl previously worked with him at Sheffield Wednesday.
Rangers are aiming to bolster Rohl’s options when the window opens next month after a shoddy first half of the 2025-26 campaign.
While things have improved somewhat since the German manager’s arrival, they are fourth in the Scottish Premiership and all but out of the title race, and look set to crash out of the Europa League league phase.
Rohl has already been working with a former player of his this season, in Djeidi Gassama, and he could be about to link back up with Windass too, who has already plied his trade at Ibrox in his career so far.

Windass could return to Rangers as Wrexham loan bid targeted by Rohl
Windass played 73 times for the Gers between 2016 and 2018 as they aimed to return to competing with Celtic in the Premiership after years in the lower leagues due to financial troubles.
He was their joint-highest scorer in the 2017-18 season, with 18 goals in all competitions, but burnt his bridges with their fans after leaving their team bus on the way to a Europa League clash to sign for Wigan Athletic.
The versatile forward left Wigan two years later to join Sheffield Wednesday, where he featured under Rohl following his appointment in October 2023.
They each left Hillsborough in the summer by mutual consent due to their financial troubles, with Rohl snapped up by Rangers, while Windass joined ambitious second tier side Wrexham.
He has shone in North Wales this season, with six goals and three assists in 19 Championship appearances, and a new report from the Scottish Sun has stated that Windass is a top January loan target for Rangers.
Rohl is believed to be working on a deal to bring the 31-year-old back to Ibrox, as he believes his attacking versatility and experience of Scottish football would make him a quality addition to his ranks.
Rangers fans erupt at Rohl over Windass links – ‘He’s taking us nowhere’
Taking to X to react to the reports, one fan said: “Another window of bang average Championship players. Josh Windass ON LOAN. Even with (Kevin) Thelwell, (Russell) Martin and (Patrick) Stewart gone, we’re heading in the totally wrong direction and are being ran by people completely unfit for Rangers.”
Another fumed, saying: “I don’t believe this BUT, if true, get Rohl out immediately. Windass was always a guy with no mental, or physical strength – we have a WHOLE team of them already. Plus, he’s seven years older since he was at Ibrox. Ridiculous agent’s leak (hopefully).”
While one Gers supporter added: “If we sign Josh Windass that’s it for me. You’ll not see me back at Ibrox for a while, absolutely embarrassing.”
