'Barcelona standard' - Rangers fans blown away by player display v Falkirk (not Cummings)

Rangers fans on Twitter were blown away by the performance of Greg Docherty in the 4-1 win against Falkirk at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon.

The Light Blues booked their place in the Scottish Cup semi-finals as they saw off the Scottish Championship side with relative ease.

Docherty, 21, really got fans talking on social media, with many delighted with how well the midfielder has performed since his switch from Hamilton in the January transfer window.

The Scotland Under-21 international appeared to have been involved in all of the Light Blues’ good play from the deeper-lying midfield role, spraying passes across the park.

One delighted Gers fan claimed that Docherty is “Barcelona standard”.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Docherty has become a mainstay of the Rangers first-team after his arrival in January.

He has made eight appearances in all competitions for the Gers, supplying two assists.

There’s no doubt that Mark Allen has done well to acquire the playmaker, who has a promising future ahead of him.

He may have a real fight on his hands in the immediate future though with Graham Dorrans soon to return from injury and for next season there may also be a fight for a spot in the starting line-up with Ryan Jack.

In other Rangers news, this Premier League playmaker wanted a future at Ibrox in 2011 and this summer is his chance to realise that dream.
