Rangers fans expect striker to agree deal after Cyriel Dessers latest

Rangers fans have demanded the club sign a new striker after Cyriel Dessers’ performance against Hibernian on Sunday (29 October).

The Light Blues won the game 1-0 through a Tom Lawrence wonder strike, but Dessers had a golden opportunity to kill the game in the 80th minute but he failed to convert it.

The Rangers forward met a cross just yards, but Hibernian’s goalkeeper managed to deny him.

Even though the Hibernian shot-stopper was praised for making the save, Light Blues fans were unimpressed by their striker not being able to be clinical.

The 29-year-old has scored seven goals in 11 games across all competitions, but Rangers fans want to see him take even more of his chances.

Dessers has made 65 appearances since he joined the club, scoring 29 goals.

The Gers supporters were quick to call for the club to sign another striker to replace Dessers due to his inability to convert big chances.

That’s a howler and sums Dessers up in a nutshell. People can praise his hold up play etc. But a proper Rangers number 9 buries those every time

Spot on, I shouted the same at the time. He is a big likeable guy and chances come his way but he misses far too many easy ones, 3 in last two games. He got lucky his miss v Malmo rebounded straight to Bajrami, also miss when clean through late on in same game. Not good enough.

Today was another prime example of why Dessers isn't capable of being our main striker.

Absolute sitter, and Hibs go up the park and nearly score.

Argue all day about the goals he does score however the ones he misses have fair cost us over the time he's been here.

It's an absolutely awful finish.
