Rangers fans explode after ‘absolute bizarre’ Ridvan Yilmaz transfer update

Rangers fans have been left fuming after the club reportedly rejected an offer for left-back Ridvan Yilmaz on Deadline Day.

Besiktas had made a loan bid for the Turkish left-back with a €1million (£831,000) loan fee, and a €3million (£2.49million) mandatory purchase option, as reported by Turkish journalist, Yağız Sabuncuoğlu.

Rangers found the offer to be insufficient and rejected the bid, much to the dismay of many ‘Gers fans.

Yilmaz also found the offer to be unconvincing, and the Turkish international will remain at Ibrox for the rest of the season.

Rangers signed centre-back Rafael Fernandes on loan from Lille in France, and also re-signed former striker Zak Lovelace from Milwall, as reported exclusively by Football Insider.

Rangers fans left in shock after rejected offer for Ridvan Yilmaz

Yilmaz has been a regular choice for Clement at left-back, but has struggled to convince the vocal Rangers fans over his two-and-a-half seasons at the club.

The left-back has ability going forward, but can be a hazard defensively, and those inconsistencies have led to some ‘Gers fans calling for the Turkish defender to be dropped.

Clement has also faced criticism from ‘Gers fans, as his side currently sit second in the Scottish Premiership, 10 points behind Old Firm rivals, Celtic.

Steven Gerrard has been linked with a return to Rangers, should the club choose to move on from their Belgian manager.

Following the news of the rejected offer, one Rangers fan said it would be “absolutely bizarre” to reject the offer, whilst another called it a “waste of an opportunity” to get €4million (£3.32million) for the left-back.
