'Embarrassing from Murty', 'Disgrace' - Rangers fans fume over treatment of 22-year-old

By Richard Parks

Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to fume over the treatment of striker Jason Cummings after he was omitted from the team for Saturday’s 4-0 win over Dundee.

With Josh Windass out injured, many Light Blues fans were hoping that manager Graeme Murty would pair Cummings in attack with Alfredo Morelos.

But the on-loan Nottingham Forest forward, 22, was snubbed in favour of veteran Kenny Miller, who was handed his first start since December.

Miller scored the opener as Rangers recorded a resounding victory at Ibrox, with further goals from Morelos, Jamie Murphy and Daniel Candeias.

Cummings was an unused substitute, in a decision that left many Rangers supporters miffed.

The front man has scored five goals in 13 matches for the Light Blues since joining on loan in January, but has started only two Scottish Premiership matches.

One supporter claimed “he hasn’t been given the light of day” by Murty, who was dubbed an “embarrassment” and a “disgrace” by other fans.
