'Worst dream ever', 'Disaster' - Rangers fans react as kit supplier follows club on Twitter
Rangers fans have gone into meltdown after eagle-eyed supporters thought they had figured out the club’s new kit supplier when Danish brand Hummel followed the Gers on Twitter.
The Light Blues’ current deal with German sportswear giants Puma comes to an end in the summer but Gers fans were far from impressed when one Twitter user noticed Hummel had recently started following the Ibrox giants.
Hummel make the kits for the Danish national team but don’t have a massive profile in football despite having sponsored some of the biggest clubs in the world in the past.
Gers fans quickly put two and two together and assumed the Danes will be taking over from Puma in the summer – with one fan saying it was further evidence of the “Espanyolification” of the Ibrox giants.
Here are some of their comments on Twitter:
Hummel make Afghanistan’s national team strips, am done

When it comes to Hummel personally I couldn't care less what the name on the shirt is. It's who's in the shirt that matters.

Worst dream ever..rangers had an under 20s coach for half the season after we hired a Portuguese fella, we then got hummel to make our tops

There would be twitter outrage from Rangers fans if the club decided to change a carpet in the ticket office. Literally greet over anything #Hummel

People saying the kit issue isn’t important couldn’t be further from the truth. We are relying on kit sales after season ticket sales. If the strip is shite which if it’s Hummel it will be it won’t be a great seller! Disaster all round.

Hummel might have offered most cash but our image takes another beating and our brand is further cheapened.

Rangers moving to Hummel gives us all the perfect indication of where we are and where this board can take us. We are now a provincial non entity mocked and hated by the entire country and safe to say with Hummel our Espanyolification will be complete. This is not the same club.

Neither the Gers nor Hummel have made any sort of announcement over a potential deal so the Gers could still end up with an alternative kit supplier.

With the Ibrox side looking like they will have a massive overhaul of the playing squad in the summer, any income from a new kit deal should give the Gers a bit more to play with in the transfer market.
