Rangers fans: Ibrox return ‘months’ away as new social media image drops

Rangers fans are convinced their return to Ibrox is still “months” away after a new image of the stadium redevelopment emerged.

The image, which was shared via social media, displayed the ongoing construction work at the stadium which still appears to be a long way off completion.

Rangers have been playing their opening home games this season at Hampden Park, and are scheduled to do so until the middle of September.

This is because of updates being made to the Copland Stand which were initially scheduled to take place during the summer break before they suffered delays.

However, after the image did the rounds on social media, fans are convinced that the timeline may be pushed back once more.

This is the latest in a string of issues with the Ibrox hierarchy as Rangers fans have begun calling for major changes at the top of the club.

Chairman John Bennett has received the brunt of the criticism from Rangers supporters, and any delays to the Ibrox development will only spark further frustration.

As things stand, their return to Ibrox is still set for September – although both Rangers and the SFA confirmed in their initial statement that an extension could be secured if required.

After the latest image emerged on social media, supporters think they could still be “months” away from a return – with suggestions it may not happen until January.

Despite this, some supporters remained confident of a return to their home ground before October.
