Rangers fans react on Twitter after Murty delivers verdict on Kiernan red

By Danny Wright

Rangers fans have called upon Graeme Murty to change his mind about appealing Rob Kiernan’s red card that he picked up on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old was shown a straight red for a two-footed lunge on Graham Cummins which left his side in a lurch against St. Johnstone, who staged a late comeback after Rangers held a 2-0 lead.

Thankfully Emerson Hyndman spared Kiernan’s blushes to score a late winner to end the game 3-2 to Murty’s side.

The Light Blues caretaker boss clearly believes that Kiernan’s challenge was not worthy of a red card and has announced in a press conference on Thursday that was covered by the club’s official Twitter page that he will look to appeal to decision.

“I think Rob Kiernan’s red card is worth an appeal and that is our intention,” Murty said.

However fans seem bemused by this move from the caretaker boss and don’t think it’s worth an appeal.

Kiernan has come in for some harsh criticism though from the Ibrox faithful in recent weeks so they could be saying this just to remain hopeful that the centre-back is suspended for a period of time.
