Rangers fans rage after confirmed Nils Koppen transfer news
Rangers fans aren’t happy with the club after Nils Koppen was promoted from director of football recruitment to the bigger role of the club’s technical director.
Rangers made the announcement on Tuesday (November 19), with Koppen taking on responsibility for the club’s men’s academy, medical, football operations, performance, and analysis departments.
The 39-year-old joined the Glasgow club a year ago after former Sporting Director Ross Wilson left for Premier League side Nottingham Forest.
Koppen’s promotion comes at a time when the club are still without a permanent chairman, and there is growing pressure on fellow Belgian Philippe Clement regarding his position as manager.
Clement’s side are already nine points behind Old Firm rivals Celtic and Aberdeen in the race for the Scottish Premier League title after just 11 games played.
Rangers fans underwhelmed by Nils Koppen promotion
With Rangers falling further behind Celtic both on and off the pitch, Koppen has a lot of work to do if he’s to restore the club’s former glories.
Underwhelmed by the decision, fans have taken to X, formally known as Twitter, to express their frustrations about the ongoing situation at the club.
In other news, Steven Gerrard ‘very much open to Rangers return’.
