Rangers fans rage at ‘disgusting’ Scottish Cup VAR drama vs Celtic – ‘Corruption’
Rangers fans are outraged that their goal in the Scottish Cup final against Celtic was disallowed after a VAR check.
Celtic secured a league and cup double on Saturday (25 May) after a late 1-0 win over their arch-rivals at Hampden Park.
After a tense start to the match, Philippe Clement’s side thought they had broken the deadlock in the second half when Abdallah Sima scored from close range following a corner.
The goal was initially awarded by on-field referee Nick Walsh.
However, VAR deemed that there was a push on goalkeeper Joe Hart in the build-up and decided to rule out the goal.

After having a goal chalked off, Rangers then went behind late on with Adam Idah scoring in the 90th minute of the match.
Rangers fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, were left fuming at the VAR decision with supporters calling it a “disgrace” and claiming “corruption”.
Rangers end the season having won the Scottish League Cup but falling just short of beating Celtic to the league and Scottish Cup.
Clement’s side will return in their pre-season tour over the summer, including a match against Manchester United, before heading into their 2024-25 campaign.
