Rangers fans have raved about goalkeeper Jak Alwnick, even though he conceded five goals in a 5-0 thumping at the hands of Celtic on Sunday.
Brendan Rodgers’ side secured their seventh Scottish Premiership title in a row by destroying their bitter rivals at Parkhead.
At times, it did not even look as though the Gers had a defence as the Hoops ran riot throughout the entire 90 minutes with Graeme Murty’s men barely having a sniff at the other end of the pitch.
Alnwick, 24, has been Rangers’ second-choice goalkeeper ever since he arrived from Port Vale in January 2017, but he was picked to start this weekend after Wes Foderingham was ruled out with injury.
And even though the Gers were battered, Alnwick impressed fans by limiting the Hoops goalrush and preventing things from getting much worse than they were.
One fan even claimed that he was the “best player on the park” for the Light Blues.
Here is a selection of the fans’ tweets:
Alnwick the only one trying

Alnwick has actually produced a few great saves today. It would already be 7 or 8 if he hadn’t.

Alnwick has made just seven appearances across all competitions for Rangers this season having played second fiddle to Foderingham for most of it.
Both he and Foderingham may be fighting for their Ibrox future in the summer with it being widely reported that Allan McGregor is on his way back to Govan once his contract at Hull expires.
