'Would be mental', 'Enough to win 55' - Rangers fans react to multi-million tycoon claim
Rangers fans have taken to social media to react to a claim that former chairman Sir David Murray is considering a return to Ibrox in order to reinvest in the club.
The Daily Express have claimed on their website that the Scottish businessman, who sold the Gers to Craig Whyte for the sum of £1 back in 2011 after struggling with his businesses, has turned his fortunes around and is now worth £150million, and that he wants to invest some of that money back into the Light Blues.
It is claimed that the 66-year-old is hoping to buy out the shares of existing investors, or failing that, to purchase new shares when they are made available in the near future, although he could have trouble convincing Dave King to buy them when they are not publicly listed.
However, the report states that King’s willingness to do business with Murray is based on how much investment the former Gers figure is willing to put into the club, and that a significant sum could well turn the current chairman’s head.
However, after his controversial exit seven years ago, which many put down as a catalyst to the club’s eventual liquidation, not all the supporters are so keen to see him return, turning to Twitter to voice their concerns.
Here, Football Insider has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ best tweets:

RFC would be mental to let Murray anywhere near that club.

Murray is not a fit and proper person to run a football club. He caused the problems well before Whyte got involved.

I'm willing to bet that the people who want Murray involved in Rangers again are the same folk who wanted Mike Ashley. #deluded

I wouldn't let Murray anywhere near Ibrox
Have we forgotten how he was the catalyst for our troubles by overspending the bank's dosh, & then selling to a known charlatan for £1 because it was 'either Rangers or his business?'
Rewind to early 2012, when we thought we were a goner!

The glaring distinction is one wanted Rangers to do well on the park and the other couldn’t care less.Maintain Murray really wanted success for Rangers. He’s just got a huge ego and made some awful mistakes.
