Rangers

By Danny Wright

Rangers fans on Twitter were delighted with the news that goalkeeper Wes Foderingham had agreed terms to extend his contract at Ibrox on Wednesday.

The Light Blues announced on their official Twitter account and official website on that the 26-year-old shot-stopper had agreed to prolong his stay with the club by an extra year, keeping him there until 2020.

Foderingham has been ever-present for Rangers this season and is one of just a few number of players to have kept his spot in the first-team since Pedro Caixinha took charge in March.

He has played every minute of every Scottish Premiership match so far this season, keeping one clean sheet in six appearances.

The former Swindon stopper also played regularly under the charge of Mark Warburton before Caixinha’s arrival last term, appearing 43 times across all competitions.

Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to praise the club for getting Foderingham to extend his stay at Ibrox, especially after he admitted that he had the chance to leave in the summer transfer window.

However one unhappy supporter believes that his club is “falling back even more” with this latest deal.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Foderingham’s new deal is no doubt a big boost for him, the club and the fans ahead of this weekend’s first Old Firm derby of the season when Celtic travel to Ibrox.
