'Liability', 'Horror show', 'Bombscare' - Rangers fans destroy player for first-half display v Ayr
By Richard Parks
Rangers fans took to Twitter to lay into Wes Foderingham after his first-half display in their team’s Scottish Cup fifth-round clash against Ayr United at Somerset Park.
The goalkeeper, 27, made a number of errors in the opening period against the League One outfit including a howler in the build-up to the match’s opening goal.
Just 10 minutes into the clash, David Bates played what looks like a routine backpass to the Rangers goalkeeper, who dithered in possession and allowed the predatory Alan Forrest to pick his pocket and force the ball home from close range.
The recalled Alfredo Morelos struck the equaliser after missing a couple of sitters to enable the visitors to restore parity and go into half-time with the score at 1-1.
Rangers fans broke into a sweat every time the ball was at the feet of Foderingham, who is the club’s undisputed number one and had conceded 30 goals in 28 matches this season going into the match,
Supporters of the club claimed the Englishman is a “liability with the ball at his fee” after a “horror show” of a first half” and his “silly mistakes” were proving costly.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Always said Foderingham was a liability with the ball at his feet, and the day proves that.
