Rangers fans have slammed Bruno Alves after his performance in the 4-1 win against Falkirk at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon.
The Light Blues booked their place in the Scottish Cup semi-finals by seeing off the Scottish Championship club, but the display of Alves, 36, caused a stir among supporters on Twitter.
Graeme Murty has regularly overlooked the Portugal international since taking charge at Ibrox so it was a rare start for him against Falkirk.
Injuries and lack of form saw him frozen out by the Ibrox manager, despite him playing a crucial role under Pedro Caixinha before he was axed.
Russell Martin was the player who was dropped to make way for the former Porto and Zenit St Petersburg centre-back, and according to supporters that may have been the wrong choice by Murty.
Alves received a lot of blame when Falkirk’s Aaron Muirhead scored in the first-half as he was rolling around on the floor, taking an age to get back to his feet before the ball deflected past Jak Alnwick in goal.
One angry Ger claim that Alves “cannot play against Celtic” in the Old Firm derby next week.
Here is a selection of their tweets:

Alves has made 19 appearances in all competitions this season after signing for Rangers in the summer.
His time at Ibrox has been controversial though with questions asked of his commitment to Ibrox.
