Rangers fans react on Twitter as Celtic crash out of Europe

Celtic’s European adventure came to an end after a 3-1 aggregate defeat by Russian giants Zenit St. Petersburg on Thursday night – and fans of Old Firm rivals Rangers were loving it.
Brendan Rodgers’ side were powerless to do anything as the Russian side cut them apart time and again to overturn Celtic’s 1-0 first leg lead.
After making wholesale changes to his side for the weekend clash with St. Johnstone before naming the same side that faced Zenit in the first leg, Rodgers’ rotation will likely come under scrutiny.
Rangers fans though couldn’t care less who or what was to blame as they revelled in their bitter rivals’ defeat.
Here are some of their comments:

Despite having only played one game in 2018 – the first leg at Celtic Park – Zenit looked a much stronger side than the Hoops as they cruised past the Scottish champions.
Branislav Ivanovic’s seventh minute header drew the Russians level on aggregate before Daler Kuzyaev fired Roberto Mancini’s side into the lead before the break.
Zenit made it 3-0 and booked their spot in the last 16 when Ivanovic whipped a dangerous ball across the penalty area and Aleksandr Kokorin steered the ball beyond Dorus De Vries.
Rangers fans will be hoping the Hoops follow up their defeat in Russia with another loss when they travel to face Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.
